Packing

I finally got all of the forms signed and the insurance taken care of. Now all I have to do is pack. I just found out this morning that I wont have to wear business clothes to work so that will make things much easier. I can even wear shorts to work! On the down side I also found out this morning that there aren't any microwaves in the dorm kitchens. How in the world am I going to cook without a microwave? :) This past weekend I bought a little camping mess set that has a frying pan, pot, plate, and cup all in one small box and it is super light. I hope that will work. I hear that there aren't any pots or pans in the dorm kitchens so you have to either bring your own or buy them there.

Dates Finalized

My dates for the internship in Slovakia have been finalized. I will be leaving next Friday, July 3rd. I will be flying first to Newark, NJ then to London, England and then to Budapest, Hungary. I will arrive in Budapest at 5:40pm on Saturday, July 4th. I have already made reservations to stay at a hostel in Pest which is not far from the train station. Sunday morning I will take the train from Budapest to Kosice, Slovakia and arrive there at 9:50am. The summer receptionist for Kosice chapter of IAESTE will meet me at the train station and help me to the University dorms where I will be living. The first day of the internship will be Monday, July 6th.

The internship will last 7 weeks and my last day will be Friday, August 21st. I plan on staying the weekend after my last day and then taking the train back to Budapest on Monday, August 24th. My flight from Budapest back to London leaves at 8:30am on Tuesday, August 25th. After a stop in London I will fly to Chicago and then finally arrive back in Minneapolis at 6:25pm.

IAESTE Acceptance

Today the Technical University of Kosice, Faculty of Civil Engineering accepted me for an 8 week long internship in Kosice, Slovakia. The acceptance papers emailed to me have the start date of 29/6/2009 and end date of 21/8/2009. This means that they would like me to start work next Monday! I am not sure that I can get everything in order to start next week including going on leave from Target, getting plane and train tickets, and packing. I have emailed the contacts for this internship and asked to have the start date moved back at least half a week and hopefully a whole week. Hopefully I will hear back from them tomorrow!
